Now on to the meat. Car Wars was an awesome tabletop game, like Battletech but with weaponized cars. It was played on 1/4" grid maps, with cardboard counters. It was very low-rent looking, and it was so much fun.
The Kickstarter is for arena maps, and with the stretch goals it's currently at, there are ten maps (five double-sided.) In addition, the $40 pledge level includes a copy of the boxed set of the original game... AND any pledge $40 or more include a PDF of the very hard to find "Uncle Albert's Catalog From Hell" full of ways to customize your murder vehicle. (A paperback copy is currently on eBay for $29.95, and that is the cheapest I have ever seen it.
If you're into that kind of game, I would strongly recommend you pick this up. And no, I don't work for Steve Jackson Games.
