It's your friendly neighborhood gunsmith! I live innawoods in rural south-central PA, somewhere halfway between Philly and Pittsburgh and just a few miles north of the Maryland border. Despite living on a dirt road half a mile back in the woods, I still have a 105/15mbit line after coaxing Comcast into running it a few years ago.
Yo, WALL OF TEXT WARNING! PROCEED AT OWN RISK.
A big portion of my interest in guns came from a lifetime of gaming. I can honestly say that I ran games like Dark Forces, Rise of the Triad and the Doom games from DOS as early as I learned basic reading. Before I hit my teens I was tinkering with game engines and modding, and began hosting game servers around 2001-2002 with Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. I spent a few years modding and map making in Source, along with co-authoring several successful Garry's Mod game modes, and hosting Left 4 Dead and TF2 for a time. Both games I tinkered with heavily and was an active player and admin on, before shutting it down due to hosting costs.
I was the first person to reverse-engineer the Mount and Blade event script system and create functional mods for it way back in the early alpha days. Our early efforts pushed the lead dev Armagan into making a module system for people to switch mods out without overwriting game files. I was also the guy responsible for digging up a slew of hidden features in Left 4 Dead and publishing the hidden commands for everyone to experiment with. I'm moderately well versed in the UE4, Torque and Unity game engines.
I spent about two years on the team for the Star Wars Galaxies Emulator project, as a community moderator on both forums and IRC as well as a QA tester for their patches. Project is still alive!
Before branching off into gunsmithing I got a bunch of IT certifications, but in hindsight I'm glad I didn't go into it full time. I do all my own networking and PC work though, so it paid off in the long run.
My gunsmithing schooling includes several programs by the American Gunsmithing Institute, a law enforcement armorer program cert and an MP5 series specialized armorer program cert. Whenever the budget permits I'll be seeking more manufacturer certifications and expanding into machine shop.
I spend most of my time working on guns, shooting guns, shooting virtual guns, and teaching people about guns. I also have my own shooting range and teach people to shoot! If you ever find yourself in the area give me a shout and we can hit the range!
